HP Laserjet 2200

Hi all,

We're considering getting an HP Laserjet 2200 for use as our main office
printer for about 8 people. If anyone has any experience with this model I
would appreciate your comments. We would use it as a network printer with
the appropriate card, rather than through a PC.

Cheers,
Jerome.

I have a few clients (legal offices) who use the 2200 but not as a
network printer. They all use it as a personal desktop printer. I
really don't think that the 2200 would be appropriate for network
printing for 8 users unless the volume of print is very small and you
purchased it with the optional Tray 3 (500 sheet tray). It is a 19
page per minute printer (letter) and the toner lasts about 5,000
pages. If you do decide on it, get the 2200DN model which has the
NIC and duplexer. As a main office printer, I would personaly
recommend something a tad more robust such as the HP-4200n or 4300n.

Have had the 2200 for a couple years and am very pleased with it. Duplexes
flawlessly. I use it alone, though - not with 8 people. Be aware it has been
replaced by the 2300 which has a LED readout rather than idiot lights (not
that I've ever needed either). Also you'd probably want the optional 500
sheet cassette.

I purchased a 2200DN a few months ago. I couldn't be more pleased with
it. The print quality is great and the speed is not bad either. It
would probably suit your needs depending on how much you anticipate your
people to print.
