HP Email portal & Outlook

Frank Saunders

Have recently changed default email program from Outlook
Express to Outlook 2002. The HP email portal worked fine
with O/E but I get the following error mesage with
Outlook.

"Could not attach images to MAPI email program"

Could anyone please advise how to overcome this issue, as
being able to attach photos via the portal is so useful.

Many thanks
Frank (Saunders)

HP's response was:
"As you were able to configure the e-mail portal with
Outlook Express, it shows that the e-mail program is
functioning properly. The issue is related to Outlook
2002."

I'm not familiar with the software - have you tried reinstalling it, if it's
local software?
Is Outlook set as the default mail client?

Outlook appears to be set as default mail client. I have
checked this via:
Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, Programs, E-mail
= Outlook.

The software is ACDSee v3.1. Just below the File, Edit,
View etc. options, there is the ACDSee toolbar and below
that, another toolbar with options to Quick Print, Print
Photos, Email Photos, Web Upload, Rotate Photos. If I
select a photo and click on Email Photos, the HP email
portal window appears (this is part of Photo Smart,
Software Version 4.0.0.91). One should then be able to
click on Create Email, which should open Outlook into a
new email with the photo file already attached (at least
it did in O/E!!). Instead I get the message as already
described.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just can't
figure what's wrong.

Thanks Frank

Hi Frank - if you just switched from OE to Outlook, try reinstalling the
software and see if it will then associate with Outlook. Sounds like the
association was set upon install to use OE and now it is "not seeing"
Outlook as the mail client.

Hi Milly
I uninstalled and re-installed the software today but the
result is the same. Any other ideas I can try?

Thanks for responding! Appreciate your interest.
