HP dc5750 computers running Windows XP - Serious Error messages occurring

I just purchased 2 dc5750 from CDW. Here are the specs just to give the
details:

• 2GHz Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Processor
• 1GB RAM
• 80GB Hard Drive
• CD-RW / DVD
• 10/100/1000 Ethernet
• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional (sp2).

Also, mainboard is an ATI Radeon Express 1150. Here is my problem: I took
the PCs out of the box got them setup and then after some configuring and
rebooting, I'll get the "Windows Has Recovered From A Serious Error" message
box after logging back in. No bluescreen. Here is what comes up in the
event log:

I updated the video drivers because I had found some info that this could
be the culprit. I also wiped both computers and recovered using the HP recovery
partition, but error still occurs. BOTH computers, purchased at the same
time and same config, are doing the exact same thing. I'm inclined to think
it's a bad piece of hardware or HP has a bad recovery partition/image on
these PCs. Mostly this error is occuring after installing something that
requires a reboot. If I just a plain random reboot, usually the error won't
come up. But after installing updates, or making a change to the msconfig,
anything where windows says "this requires a reboot", that's when it is most
likely to occur.

Any thoughts or ideas? I have a 3rd dc5750 that I had purchased before these
2, and I have not once had this problem. I am creating restore CDs from
this one and I will use them to wipe out these two computers (yet again)
to see if this will resolve the error. But, I won't get that started until
tomorrow. In the meantime, I just wanted to see if anyone has seen similiar
issues or have heard of anything related to an issue like this?

Thank you for your help!

ATI is infamous for making bad drivers. I had to disable it's drivers to be
able to play games without 1 second of mouse lag on both of my computers. If
you don't disable the drivers like I didn't do, it will make things worse.

How odd that I've never seen nor heard that until now... and I used
ATI cards for years - at least 10.

I've heard it in connection with specific cards, but not as a general
critisism. I guess Nvidia and others probably have occasional similar
issues.
