Hi All

Anyone know what this could be?

I Have a Color Laserjet 4550 that has a JetDirect Card in it. At random
intervals, and infrequently the printer will print this:

POST http:// <IP Address>:3531 /.pkt HTTP/1.0
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Host: <Same IP address as above>:3531
Content-Length: 27
Pragma: no-cache

Then about 20-30 ASCII Characters followed by about 8-9 blank pages.

The printer will only do this when the PC is on so hence it is coming from
the PC, it is connected to A Windows XP Professional Service Pack one PC,
via a Network Crossover cable.

Sometimes it will do it when I connect to the internet, other times just
after I start up or when I am using the PC offline. It will just fire up and
print this junk

If anyone knows what this is and how to stop it that would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

The Shunt....

port 3531 is used by Joltid (and Kazaa??)

Are you using any peer to peer software that might be looking for other
servers/clients on your network?

Have a look at http://www.joltid.com/

Alternatively, it could be outside users looking for Kazaa servers which
are/might be compromised.

If you don't use any peer2peer, try blocking port 3531 (TCP and UDP) on
your firewall.

That may be it, it started after I installed P2P software, I dont use it so
I uninstall it.

Great Thanks for the Help
