have a HP deskjet 712c which has worked fine up until 2 months ago. i am
using windows xp...
whenever i restart my comp or sporatic hard drive activity, i end up with 9
files in the print que, same size (4 bytes), under doc name: "no doc name"
and it keeps other files from printing. i have uninstalled / installed
unplugged the printer and nothing seems to fix this odd problem. ..any
suggestions are greatly appreciated

Hi:
I have a very similar problem.
In my case, I shut down the printer completely and wait for awhile. Then, I
start it over again.

Also, you need to 'cancel/delete' all documents by accessing,
Control Panel < Printer

did you have 9 files that appeared with the same size, etc as i explained in
my first post?

Ii have done everything and while i can get rid of the current printer at
control panel/printer, once i install the printer again, eventually these
files reappear in the folder...and it continues,,,,
any other suggestions??? thank you

Hi:
Sometimes, older Printer, in my case, these problems happen, like your
previous post,
I have three hp printers, two are newer version but one is quite old, about
7 years'.

In my guess, ... WindowsXp not able to read some of older Printers, then if
there is no solution, you may need to purchase a newer model of printer.

However, if you'd like to stick with the current printer, you could go to HP
web-site to seek a solution.

I understand your frustration, but I have been throught those problems on
older hp printer. However, as in my previous post, luckily I found a good
solution, stated the above. Practically, keep trying over and over again to
find the solution.
It took about one hour or so to have found the solution on my own, ...
'self-help.'

Hopefully, you, too could find a good solution on this, soon.
