How will I open Excel file

I am trying to open Excell file directly by clicking on the file bit I am
receiving an error message: Make sure the path and file name are correct,and
that all required libraries are available.

While when opening it from the program itself is possible, or if opened from
outlook attachement directly.

I have tried ti uninstall and install the office 2003 but I am getting the
same message, please help

Try this:

menu Tools, Options, tab General, uncheck "Ignore other applications" (or
something like this...).

(I'm not sure of names of menus, options and commands, because
translating from the Italian version of Excel...)
