How to view sender's email address?

T

Tom

How can I quickly see the sender's email address?

(In OE, you can just double click the sender's name and the full email
address will pop up - any equivalent trick in Outlook?)

Thanks!

Same.
If not, then perhaps you should try telling us which version of Outlook and
which editor you're using.

I'm using Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703). I tried ticking and unticking "Use
Word 2003 to edit email" but still have the problem: double clicking or
right clicking the sender's name don't reveal email address.

Thanks

It does here.
What does it show instead?
Are you opening the message first?

Skip

Right Click on the message header, then chose "Options" at the bottom of the
list. The complete internet header is displayed at the bottom of the
screen. You can highlight areas you want and paste into Word or NotePad to
print out or save.

Now I suspect that may have something to do with "opening the message
first".
Actually I have 2 profiles:
- In the 1st one, if I open the message first then I can't double click
(yes, double, not right as I just found out) to see all the info in "Email
Properties" wchih includes sender's address. If I doulbe click first, then
I can see, even after I open afterwards.
- In the 2nd profile, I can get the Email Properties with double click
regardless of opening the essage first or not.
- In case where double click won't work, then right clik at the header and
select "Option" at the bootom of the list to see full Internet headers won't
work too (nothing shown in that "Internet headers box- empty).

Thanks very much for any suggestion you may have.

PS: for both profiles, I imported all messages from OE 6.

Now you tell me. Rather an important detail left out there. Imported
messages will not behave the same as ones received by Outlook.
See what happens with messages Outlook receives.

Russ,

Thanks for your pointer. Now I found these out when trying both way:
exporting from OE and importing from Outlook:
- Imported messages don't have that "sender's address" problem, just like
Outlook received messages. But some (30% of all messages) imported messages
didn't get the date right (they show up as messages received "today". I
can't figure out why as I can't find the common among the one with wrong
date. However, right click and go to Options to show internet headers, I
still see the right date. Just wrong on the in box window).
- I tried the reverse: I export messages from OE to Outlook instead. Then I
get all the date right, but here's where the sender's address problem occur.
Outlook received messages don't have this sender address problem as you
pointed out.

Could there any way that I can resolve this problem either way as I have a
lot of messages in OE that I want to migrate to Outlook?

Thanks!

You'll have to pick your poison. Export from OE to keep your dates right.
Import from Outlook to keep the sender's address intact.
