How to Turn Off Vista Keyboard Accents?

Ever since I installed Vista I have had to endure the annoying issue that if
I type a ‘ or “ or ` that I have to press space immediately after typing the
character otherwise I end up with accented characters like é í ò etc.

I live in Australia and have no need for the accent characters.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening permanently?

Note: I am running Vista Business
I only have one language installed English (Australia)
I only have one keyboard layout installed - United States keyboard (Default)

Thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,

Check that your US keyboard layout is the plain US one, and not US
International.

Hi Darren,

Open Regional and Language Options from Control Panel, Keyboards and
Languages tab. Click on Change keyboards, check that you have the following
set:

Default input language set to English (Australia) - US

Installed services English (Australia) Keyboard US
