How to sync Palm Treo 680 on Windows 7 w/Outlook 2007

First I couldn't complete install of Treo 680 Palm desktop from disc. Tried
uninstalling Palm and installing Outlook 2007 because I was told I could sync
with that instead. Tried to sync and got message I needed to install Palm
desktop. Reinstalled it and updates and still can't sync. Have restarted
after each install.

PAlm.
