When I print ducuments, text files, etc. my printing runs smoothly but
when I want to print PDF document it takes to long to print just
several pages.

Probably printer is saving each PDF page to it's cache memory so that's
the reason of slow printing but I have to ask is there any way to speed
up printing PDF files?

I have HP LaserJet 2100 Series.

Double check this setting: On File/Print, click the 'Advanced button'.
Make certain that 'Print as Image' is NOT checked. You may need to load
a .PDF file to do this.

When "Print as Image" is NOT checked I can't print my PDF documents
propertly. Insted of proper letters I get some strange characters which
I can't understand or read.

I think there is some problem with code page or something and I don't
know how to fix that problem...

Have you tried using one of the acrobat reader alternatives like
Foxit? The more recent versions of Acrobat Reader have been fairly
bloated and are much more pokey than older versions. There are
several other alternatives for pdf reading and printing out there. Not
sure if they're 100% compatible with the latest additions to the PDF
format, but they seem to work with most PDF files.

Since PDF files often have to be "cooked" to resize them to fit the
print page, I find Acrobat Reader often needs a few minutes of
processing time before the data is actually sent to the printer. If
this is what you're talking about, the acrobat alternatives may help,
or perhaps a faster CPU, but there's not really much that can be done.
Printing at the file's native resolution can be quicker, but having to
paste the bits together isn't a very desireable alternative.

If the delay happens after the data gets to the print spool, I'm
afraid I can't think of anything to do. I've never owned a Laserjet.

I use Foxit Reader to read and print PDF files and the speed of
printing is still the same as in Acrobat Reader.

CPU is T2500 2.0GHz Core Duo - which should be fast enough so that
isn't problem either.

Delay is happening cause of printer and I thought that there is some
way to speed up printing just a little. I must print as a image cause
in other way I have problem with code page...

Thx for your answers!

The fact that it only happens with PDF files means that it's not the
printer's fault. PDF is very bloated software to begin with, and even
with powerful processors, converting and sending it to the print
spooler will take a long time. Since you have it set to print as
image, that just adds to an already slow process.

The only thing that would be the printer's fault is the fact that you
can't print without converting to image, which sounds like a driver
issue. I would follow the instructions here.

http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Then download the newest driver off of HP's website and reinstall it.
But even if you manage to get it working without converting to image,
don't expect a major speed increase.
