You can only sort table rows or paragraphs so you need to convert the list,
sort it, and convert it back.
Select the list.
Ctrl+H to bring up the replace dialog
Find what: ; (semicolon)
Replace with: ^p (caret, lower case letter p)
Hit Replace All
If prompted to continue, say No
Close the Dialog
Select Table > Sort from the Menu
(the defaults should be good so just) click OK
Note that this may extend the selection to include a final paragraph
mark
- if so, Shift+Left Arrow to remove it from the selection.
Ctrl+H to bring up the Replace dialog again
Find what: ^p (caret, lower case letter p)
Replace with: ; (semicolon)
Hit Replace All
If prompted to continue, say No
Close the Dialog
