How to set Outlook2003 to open Word attachments with normal view?

When I open a Word attachment with Outlook2003, it always opens with a
Reading Layout (split screen). I can change the view to normal, but it will
open again next time with Reading Layout. How do I change it so it will
auotmatically open in normal layout?

In Word, you need to turn off the "Allow starting in Reading Layout" option.

1. Open Word
2. Go to Tools | Options | General tab
3. Uncheck the "Allow starting in Reading Layout" option
4. Click OK
5. Close Word
6. Close Outlook
7. Reopen Outlook and try it now. It should open the attachment as it used
to.
