How to set Input language

Guest

My pc is installed with Chinese Text Input (Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0) with
English as the default language. However, I faced problem with Access only.
Every time I run my access database, the input language will change to
Chinese input. After changing the input language to English and enter the
data in Englich, move on to the next field, the input language change to
Chinese again. Every data entry to the field require to change the input
language and it's very frustrating. How to prevent this to happen?

Try something like checking your regional settings or your text input
language in your keyboard settings ???

I believe this is Access 2007 bug. For those who interested here is how I
reproduce the problem.

1. Install "MS Pinyin IME 3.0" in the Regional Setting and Language Option
in control panel. Here is how to do it. Open the regioinal setting, install
"East Asian Language" in the "Language" tab; click on "Details", choose "US
English" as default input language, click "Add" then choose "Chinese (PRC)"
as input language, then select "MS Pinyin IME 3.0" for keyboard layout. Click
"OK" twice to go back to the main regional setting window.

2. Click "Advanced" tab (next to Language) in the main regional setting
window, the choose "Chinese (PRC)" for non-Unicode programs.

3. Once restart (first time install only), the language bar should appear on
lower right corner of your task bar allowing you to choose English/Chinese
input language.

4. Launce Access 2007, and I bet you can try out whatever setting in the
"Access Option" you will see 2 problems. 1st problem, most font will change
to Simsun. Some can be changed back to Calibri, but the editing the
table/form in design view will still have the Simsun font. 2nd problem, which
is the most annoying one, is the once mentioned below. The language bar will
keep changin back to "Chinese" input every time you enter data into the table
in datasheet view.

5. The only solution so far, is to uninstal the "MS Pinyin IME 3.0" keyboard
layout in the regional setting. Since I don't have any problem with Word,
Excel and other program with the "MS Pinyin IME 3.0" enabled, this should be
the BUG from Access 2007.

For those who has the fix please share your input.

Thanks

You can try the following solution:

1. From the Office Button in MS Access 2007 select Access Options;
2. In the Advanced group under editing, click the list box "Datasheet IME
control"
3. Click OK to save.

Hope that the above steps can solve your promble. Wish you all the best!
