How to run DOS dBASE III+ under Win XP

Has anyone actually been successful running DOS dBASE under Win XP? How did
you get it to run? In particular, I use dBASE III+, but if you're using
another DOS version of dBASE, I'd still like to know what you did.

Um WHY??? That program was installed an my dad's old 286 (I think i was
in first grade). I think, howewer that many windows programs will read
your old files, and tables. Incuding MS Access, and the Borland
Database engine.

If you insist, you can try to play with the compatibility mode stuff
until it works. (It might not). Worst case is you have to dual boot DOS
or maybe win98.

I'm sure I could sell you a 486 laptop or something, too. :)

No problem running dBase III+, dBase IV and dBase V (for DOS)
in a DOS window.

Right on; works fine for me too. Only thing to watch out for, is
be sure it's Ashton Tate's dB and not one of the look-alikes that
popped up later on; ymmv with those. Vulcan, I found, did OK
too.

Did you set any parameters in compatibility mode or use any special
autoexec.bat/nt or config,sys/nt files?
