How to Restore Speed after Uninstalling MapleStory Game

D

David

In 10.2007 I reformatted my Dell Centrino Notebook PC (has 1 GB memory) hard
drive and reinstalled Windows XP Pro incl all MS updates and lengthy SP2.
Everything was DANDY and I slowly installed applications like MS Office 2003.
I did have hassle with Symantec reinstalling Norton Internet Security
2007...but my 2 kids play on-line computer games like Runescape and
MapleStory on our Home Desktop PCs but I allowed them to put MapleStory on
this Dell NotebookPC bec (i) birthday party and they wanted at least 2 PCs in
same room with Desktop PC and (ii) we were going out of town to hotel after
Christmas and MapleStory is the life obsession.

Dell Notebook PC was S-L-O-W in hotel I think bec Hotel internet was
overburden so I had enough and uninstalled MapleStory via Control Panel
Remove Software. It did not improve speed like after reinstall so I have
tried everything like SYSTEM RESTORE but none ever took, DEFRAG and DISK
CLEANUP and am seriously thinking my only choice is to REFORMAT HARD DISK and
then go through lengthy MS Window Update process incl SP2 and cross my
fingers when during with SYMANTEC on Internet Security 2007. In fact I
bought the two 3 user license for NORTON 360 as I own a total of 3 Desktop
PCs and 3 Dell Notebook PCs but the slow speed reaction time on this
particular one, Dell Latitude D800 is driving me cuckoo and crazy.

Your suggestions and assistance is gladly welcomed!

I do know that My Big Lessons Learned Experience in the future is to always
create a SYSTEM RESTORE POINT before ever installing a new software!

Thanks in advance for all help and tips!

Well , I could say that Norton takes over the system completely , but
I won`t .
