How to resize pictures

How do I resize pictures? When I e-mail them, they're way too big. If I
choose to send by right clicking on the picture, it asks me if I want to
resize, but it doesn't open the e-mail program...

Thanks.

If you are using Outlook Express, the following
instructions may help you set it as your default
e-mail client. Hopefully, this should cause the
program to open a new message when you
click...Send To / Mail Recipient.

How do I make OE my default mail client?

Go to...Start / Run...and enter the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg<
(copy paste everything between the > < but not including the > <)
(But first...Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure it is correct)

Click...OK...

Then open Internet Explorer and go to...Tools / Internet Options /
Programs tab...and set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Good luck.

Also there is a free Powertoy at the following
link that might be useful:

http://tinyurl.com/36n
Download and install: ImageResizer.exe

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

BTW...when resizing if you go to...Advanced
Button / Custom...and enter 640 in each field...
that will be a good size for e-mail purposes.

John,

I have MS XP OS. My main goal is to re-size digital pix to 72 dpi to
post on a website.

I downloaded and installed ImageResizer.exe. The download of the
Window Installer Package (313KB)program is fast and easy. I have
installed the program no problem.

But now I cannot find the installed program! I've re-installed it 3
times. All I can find is a ReadMe file that says, "the program is
installed in a folder" selected by me. But the install process does
not ask me for a folder.

I've done numerous searches of my hard drive for key words. I've
searched thru the Program Files. I have a folder for "PowerToys for
Windows XP". the only thing in the folder is a ReadMe file that gives
a brief explanation of the different PowerToy programs available.
There is no actual Image Resizer Program!

What can you suggest to help me~!? Thank you !

It's not a program that you must open...it
simply adds the Resize option to your right
click menu.

The answer is in my original post...here it is:

You can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

If you require a program with more options...
try IrfanView:

Download IrfanView 3.92
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html
(get the plug-ins too)
