How to repair messaging interface error on Outlook 2002 xp

Getting a pop up message on Outlook 2002xp "messaging interface has returned
unknown error". I have installed the outlook 2002 public update oct 4, 2001
did not solve it. unable to send/receive messages. any suggestions or
solutions?

Hi
Is that the only error you see? There are no other error messages or an
error number? Can you check your application event viewer to see if there are
any Office/Outlook-related errors, I would be particularly interested in the
eventID and source information.
