How to Rename a Bogus System file

I would like to know how to "rename" a file that has been placed under a
directory shown to be a system directory. These files can not be touched through
the GUI. The directory name is 3000, and it's location is at C:\WINNT\3000. The
files in this directory is as follows:

Why can't they be touched in the GUI? What happens if you try to delete the

I can't look in the directory.
The directory is 3 gigs

A search for any file bears no fruit.

The find.txt took 7 1/2 hours
with a 2.4g Northwood at 100%

Tell me how else look for them thru the GUI, and I'll do it.

Sorry, that didn't sound right at all.
The Directory shows to be a system directory.
I tried to search for each one of the files, and they are not to be seen.
Is there a cmdPrompt to rename one of these files.

This is odd. I don't know what would be special about that dir. I guess
you could try removing the system attributes from it and seeing if it makes
any difference. Do:

How bummed can anyone be over such simple carp. NT command wouldn't touch the file,
so I put it inside a folder, tried it through the GUI, but just sat there after. At
an NT command line, RD SOB, went away like nothing ever there and haven't heard it
squawk at all. Gotta stop to watch Britney.

BTW, I did take Read-Only, Hidden, and System off it thanks to you. That may be what

Thank you Daniel,

I don't really know how I happened to get it on that particular box. It isn't
exclusive in that I allow two others to make use of it. It is my live LevelI feed
direct from the NYSE trading floor and NAsDaQ. Ray is a good friend and he suggested
I take the "crowbar" attributes off it. Then I wrapped it in a folder and tried
through the GUI first, and it looked back at me like I was nutz (not far off) and
that pissed me off. Used NT command line, like RD SOB <-(added folder). Poof

BTW, I did take Read-Only, Hidden, and System off it thanks to you. That may be what

This is odd. I don't know what would be special about that dir. I guess
you could try removing the system attributes from it and seeing if it makes
any difference. Do:

attrib -R -S -H %windir%\3000
