How to remove welcome screen following screen saver

A

Alan Hurley

Every time my machine is on standby, or following the screen saver, I get
the welcome screen and have to click user name to return to the desktop. Is
there any way to disable this and just return to the desktop when I move the
mouse. It never happened when XP was first installed.

Thanks

Alan

Simple. Go to the screensaver options panel (Control Panel > Display >
Screen Saver) and uncheck the "On resume, display the welcome screen"
box.

In addition to removing the password requirement for the screensaver, go to
Control Panel (classic view)> Power Options. On the standby page, uncheck
the box for the resume/password requirement here as well.
