In the win XP >My computer>under devices with removable storage, there is an
icon a 'Removable Disk (M) " which physically there is nothing attached.
Neither does it show up in Disk Management. How do I get rid of this icon?
Thanks

It is probably for a built-in SD card reader, either on your computer or on
your printer. Since you told us nothing about your computer, that's as
specific as I can be.

Nothing is connected to the computer except the ps2 mouse/usb kb/monitor. In
my Device Manager, there is a +Human Interface Devices which open up : HID
compliant consumer control device, USB Human Interace Device.
There is a port but dont know if it is a card reader. Can I just delete the
icon? Thanks

What for? It's not taking up any room and it will just come back. Stick an
SD card in and see what happens. If you don't know what an SD slot looks
like:

Use Device Manager find the device and hit disable. It should keep it from
loading every boot.

Right click- does not have delete function. Spoke to the OEM and yes, Malke
is correct, its the card reader. Many thanks
