How to remove LOP spyware

P

PS

My IE pages have this annoying bar with search engine. It is a nuisance
because it prevents me to see the whole webpage.

I did a search and it top me to "lop.com" hence my knowledge that it is LOP
spyware.

How can I remove it with FREEWARE. I am aware of several effective programs
but these cost around 20US$. I would like to avoid buying the program unless
there is no other good alternative.

I hope someone will give me some useful suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

A short search with Yahoo! brought me to:
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/lop.html

Which gives a detailed removal instruction and further information. It
seems that some virus scanners (ie McAffee) can remove it as well.

I have spent many hours trying to rid systems of this pest. What I found out
is it may be the easiest to remove! If you can find it in your add/remove
list try that! If it is still detected on your system believe it or not you
have to go back to their website to get it removed. I know, I know why would
you want to go back but believe me it will take care of it!

Just go to www.lop.com and go down the page and click on their "Help" link.
Under their question, "How do I uninstall one of your software products?"
you will find a link to download a file called new_uninstall.exe save this
to your desktop and exit your browser and simply click on the file.

Avast picked that file up as being a trojan a while ago. Would anyone trust LOP
to have a clean uninstaller, seeing as their spyware/hijack 'product' is such a
bitch to get rid of?
