How to remote an office computer from a home computer?

Hello,
I want to connect from my home computer to my computer in the office with
the "Remote Desktop Connection" offer by windows.
In the office we don't have any Domain name or any pc with a server program
that controls our network and the IP addresses are automatically generated.
Now the questions are how I do that? What IP should I have to use?

"Automatically Generated"...?
You will need to contact your office IT staff and ask them about:

- Remote Desktop permission (On the machine.)
- Firewalls and routing (On the machine and any routers/switches they
manage.)

Shenan,
This company is only a 10 people company. I'm the one who is maintaining the
system and fixing any error or situation that shows up. Like I said we don't
have any big security issues, just a modem, router and a couple of switches
to transmit the signal to all computers. I ready give the permissions to my
office computer, but at the time that i try to connect from my home pc the IP
that I’m using is not working. This is the reason why I'm asking what IP or
what else I have to do in way to have remote access.
Thank you

The router is giving out the IPs to the computers.

What has to be done is the router has to be configured to forward the port
3389 requests to the computer of your choice behind it. The router is the
only device in this system with a 'public' IP I assume. All other machines
have a private IP (192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.xxx.xxx.xxx?) I assume. So the
router - for example, would have to be configured to forward port 3389
requests (3389 is the remote desktop port) to the internal private IP of the
machine you wish to remote to and you would use (when outside of the office
network) the IP of the router.

Want to know what that IP is? When at work, visit http://whatismyip.com/

Hi Darwin,

You need to use a dynamic IP to name service.
Then instead of typing the IP which changes at each new router boot, you
just type a name.
Some routers have a DDNS facility which automaticaly updates the DDNS
provider at each new boot. If you have not one of those routers, then
install a software client on the computer that you want to connect from
home.
Many DDNS providers are free and work pretty well. I have used dyndns.org
and have no complains. When you want to connect to the office, all you have
to do is type myofficename.dyndns.org and hellas you are there.
Don't forget to configure that router to forward the connection to the exact
machine you want to connect.
