How to recover files moved from my laptop?

I wanted to do something I've never done before. Move files from my laptop
to my desktop using a transfer device Attache Udisk 20x removeable disk. I
was moving files from my laptop to the removable transfer disk & in the
process the removable disk ran out of space. So I took the transfer disk to
the desktop PC & loaded what was on the transfer disk. Then reinserted the
transfer disk into my laptop thinking ok now with "retry" it will continue to
put the remaining data onto the transfer disk so that I can also put that
onto my desktop. Then I realized that did not work the way I thought it
might - due to my ignorance. Now my laptop does not display 2 files that I
thought got moved to the transfer disk – but did not. How do I find/recover
the 2 files, which did not get moved to the transfer, disk? Let's just call
them fileA & FileB.

It's probably too late to press Ctrl/Z which might have worked
immediately afterwards. An Undelete program might let you restore the
files, but you shouldn't use that computer till you run the Undelete
program; you risk overwriting the files.
