Hi,

I've googled about my problem. It's just that my XP Icons are gone after
installing and uninstalling ThemeXP software. There is no icon for .HTML etc
etc. They are gone. How do I rebuild the Icon cahce ?

On this page , http://www.iconolog.net/info/faq.html he has given
information on using AxIcons or MicroAngelo, 3rd party tools for rebuilding
icon cache but I don't wana use them.

a.. Delete a file called ShellIconCache, which is in the Windows directory.
When you restart the computer, the icons will be back to normal. "

The method above was recommended on that website but I cannot find
"ShellIconCache" in my "Windows" folder. Please help !!!

You can do this with the freeware ActivIcons utility from
http://www.cursorarts.com/ca_aifw.html

Its "Desktop Controls" screen has options for increasing the cache
size (I've always used 4096)

To rebuild the icon cache: options for rebuilding the cache are on 2
small round buttons at the lower/right corner. Shut down any programs
running in the background, then click the round button farthest to the
lower/right corner (your system will reboot, and the icon cache will
be cleaned out).

Tweakui has an icon repair feature which sometimes works for corrupted
icons. Some people also have had success deleting the iconcache.db
file, though that has never worked for me.
