how to paste & get "markups" to appear in another doc?

I have a doc I have revised in 'markup', including deletions, inserts,
comments etc. It is MS Word 2002 version. When I try to paste the markups
from text A into another document, text B, where I also have markups, the
following happens:

the pasted in text from text A appears in text B as if the entirety of text
A is a markup. It is all underlined. The only choice I have is to accept it,
which is the same as clicking 'accept all revisions'. If I do this, I lose
all the real markups from text A so that now I cannot work on further
revising them in text B.

I need to know this very quickly, so please help if you can. thanks so much.

Somewhere in the article at

Shauna explains the magic combination needed to make this work.
