How to open a PPS and the recorder

Hi,

I use PowerPoint with some groups of children I work with. I create my
presentations on PowerPoint 2003 and save them as PPS. In the classrooms,
they don't have PowerPoint 2003 so I installed the PowerPoint Viewer.

I would like to start a presentation AND the voice recorder of Windows so I
can record the sentences the children are producing to describe what's
happening on the presentation. My goal is to save the sound files, edit them
and insert it later in the presentation so they can listen to themselves as
they go through the presentation on their own.

When I open my presentation, I don't have acces to anything else on the
computer.
Can you help ?

Thank you.

The PowerPoint Viewer (PPV) is just a viewer and no editing is possible.
Use your PC in class and complete your project then you can use the class
PPV to let them view & hear.

I loved your nice project; ask ONLY one at a time to says their names BUT
they can laugh at the same time --- for more impact. Too many voices will
produce noise.

Good Luck & All The Best,

Thanks for your answer Rino. I know I can't do any editing with PPV but I
would like to open Window Sound Recorder while PPV is open so I can record
the children as they describe the slide. Is this possible ?

Try starting Sound Recorder first, then start the show.
With luck you'll be able to use Alt+Tab to toggle between the two.

Another approach: you can buy rather inexpensive digital "tape recorders" meant for
recording voice memos. Some of these have a USB interface so you can bring the sound
into your PC. It might be more convenient to do it that way.

Hello Christine,
Hope you always come out and check your thread for your own advantage.
I've tested your plan project in my own PC and I found it is much better to
use Slide Show menu > Record Narration and follow my earlier advice. If
available use a wireless microphone and wireless Presenter Mouse & Pointer.
If none -- don't worry -- just ask the whole class come to you and your monitor
screen. Small kids sit while Big kids standing as compact as possible.

My method require you already did in advance the actual show or story
or sentences. And require only the sound to be interactively added. If found
no good you can as easily change it by repeating and targeted for improving.

Many other techniques can be used. Most importantly, experiment and testing
require time and patience but are necessary to ensure the best results in your
judgment.

Cheers,

Thank you John and Steve ! I will try that.

Christine./

Thanks again Rino,

I am just writing to tell you that I've got your message.
I tried the Alt-Tab tip and it does everything I needed.

Thanks Michael,
Now I learned another new things from you. BTW, are you in-charged and supervising all users and MVP here? Can I see your
organization chart/list page? Please!

Regards,

Alt+Tab takes you from one open program to another

Sorry, All MVP's here are created equal and no one is in charge of anyone
else. It is all voluntary.

I am trying to find a key combination to toggle between two different PPT
presentations. One I want to be running on a continuous changing of photos
and the other will be my primary teaching presentation. How can I easily
toggle?
