Once iv done my presentation i have to save it as a webpage. there is a link
in the presentation, which on clicking it i want it to open in a new window.
its works like that during the slide show but not when i save it as a
webpage. maybe because my link is to another webpage but i still want it to
open in a new window. any ideas?

1) After saving as, let's say, TEST.HTM, you'll have TEST.HTM and in the same
folder, a folder full of support files called TEST_files. Open that folder and
you'll see a Slide000xx.htm file for each slide in the presentation. Open each
file in notepad or a similar text editor, find each instance of the text

_parent

and change it to

_new

Save the file.

Hyperlinks will now open in a new window.

2) If animations aren't a big deal and you need to do this more than just
occasionally, try our PPT2HTML add-in for PowerPoint; it'll do this for you
automatically. Free, fully functional demo available at

In addtion to the Save as html feature of PowerPoint, you can have
this alternative:
Convert PowerPoint to flash and then embed the flash to a html page.
This works better for a complicated powerpoint files with a lot of
animations, transtions and other.
And viewer can also have more control for the presentation playback.

For convert powerpoint to flash, you need a converter like PPT2Flash
Standard

Then, you can choose to open the hyperlink in a new window or in the
current window.
