The pst files are from my backup hd. I copied the folder into the new hd. I
want to migrate these files & folders to an installed trial copy of Office
2007. So far I configured Outlook, and tried to import the pst files via the
import but I get a message that I do not have permission. The file is not
marked read only.

OE6 doesn't use PST files. Is the pst file marked read only? outlook needs
read-write access to the file.

I cannot sem to import the pst files into the trial copy of office 2007. I
get a message saying the action is denied- I don't have permission to access.

Try moving them to your "Documents" or "My Documents" folder and open them in
Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File. Never use export/import to move
data from one Outlook to another. If the files still won't open, then take
ownership of them and try again.
