How to migrate current game state from xp?

I'd appreciate to know some links explaining how to setup a fresh fsx install
on vista, having the game already in progress on xp sp2 in order to match the
current game state before uninstalling from the older system.
(game state meaning rewards, missions, ...to be able to go on without
noticing any difference).
Is it possible, did anybody succeed in doing that?
thx, ric

I've done this in many games.
Diffrent games stores it in diffrent places, for example my game stored this
in my documents in special folder named the same as game, another stored it
in aplication data folder in my profile. Most games stores profile on
network or in folder when it was installed.

Please give name of game, maybe someone will know where profile of game is
stored.

Thanks, you are right. In fact, considering ms flight sim X, I had found both
folders (one in my folder docs, one in application data of my profile) and
put them in place under vista. But rewards are not reported correctly at all,
and also completed missions are not checkmarked as they ought to be (and
perhaps other issues i am not aware of..yet).
I dont see any useful information in the game folder, I assume the migration
is not possible, or at least does not work smoothly.
I have asked here hoping someone could observe/experience the same kind of
problem.
Although it's not a big deal, resetting everything is not pleasant and
personally I hate it. Bye, ric
