What made it less than clear was the poor quality of the writing. Even
in the answer you've posted here, there are numerous ambiguities that
cause confusion to people without a tech background.
Lady Dungeness
Crabby, but Great Legs!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
|I thought I was pretty clear but for you I will go over it again.......
|he has a 160gb HD with an OS on it.
|he has an 80gb HD which he will hook up as a slave to the 160 if it is a
|PATA drive or on another SATA connector if it is a SATA drive.
|He will install XP onto the 80 GB drive only......the 160 already has an OS
|on it.
|the XP installation will see the other OS on the 160 HD and create the dual
|boot when it installs onto the 80gb HD.
|XP will change the MBR on the 160gb HD to reflect the fact that he has 2
|OS..........ONE ON EACH DRIVE.
|
|If you need further clarification.........please dont hesitate to use
|Google....and the search terms "XP DualBoot"
|peter
||>I see. So he's doing a full install of XP on each of the drives.
