how to link two tables with a common column heading

i was wondering how to join two different spreadsheets that each have an
identical column heading...e.g one spreadsheet has the taxonomic hierarchy of
a particular species and the other spreadsheet has dates and locations of
when and where the species was collected...both spreadsheets have a common
column called 'latin name'

Hi,

It's very difficult to understand the scenario what actually mean by join.
However, i will a wild guess.

You can select and copy those columns, and using the Paste Special command
in the Edit menu, you could probabily copy those columns to a new Worksheet
in the same workbook or to a different Worksheet in a New Workbook.
