How to link the animation effects of a deleted object to another?

Let's say I have created object A and I have assigned quite a few animation
effects to it. Now, I want to delete object A and replace it with object B.
Is there a quick way to link object B to the animation effects that I
previously set up for object A? Try not to do "add effect" for object B all
over. Am I asking for the impossible?

Appreciate advice.

Animation Carbon add-in allows you to copy animations from one shape to
another:
http://skp.mvps.org/ac/index.html

Alternately if it is an image, click File > Save as wepage.
Look into the output folder for the image.
Now, rename the new image so that it takes the name of the original image in
the output folder.
Replace the image. (Note that if the original image is a .jpg file, the new
image must also be a .jpg file)
Open PowerPoint and click File > Open.
Look for the html file and open it. Save it back to ppt format.

Also take a look at changing animation in PowerPoint Workbench:
