How to keep hyperlink intact when I email a .ppt and linked files

When I send a Powerpoint presentation via email, I send a folder including
other documents that are linked to that presentation with hyperlinks. Excel
and Word files, for example. The links always have to be re-mapped on the
receiving person's computer. Is there a way to keep the hyperlinks working
if the files are in the same folder, without having to re-map them all? We
do not have a common server to use for the hyperlinked files.

Simplest way I can think of is to start from scratch with a simple and easily
reproduced folder structure like:

C:\MyFiles

Put everything in that folder, create the links. Have the recipient create the
same folder and drop everything into the folder. It should work.

Um. Unless they have Vista, which probably won't let them at the C: drive's
root.
