How to import older folders to Outlook 2007?

I have just installed Outlook 2007 with contact manager, and have
imported folders of my old Outlook into the new old as another folder.
Is there a way I can import all the folders and their content from
this olders structure to the new Outlook 2007 structure?

For example, I have set up about 12 subfolders under my old contact
folder. Is there a way I can convert or import all of these folders
into my new Outlook 2007 contact folder? Another example is that I
have set up folders for storing different categories of emails before
and I'd like to know if I can also import all of these folders into
the new structure without having to do it one by one.

I know I can do it one by one manually but since I have a lot of
folders, I am trying to see if anyone know of a quicker way of doing
this.

I hope this is explained clearly ... Thanks.

You dont realy want to import, you open your origonal pst within Outlook,
then drag & drop to wherever

I tried to do that but an alert asked me to choose between
compatibility with older Outlook (I am transferring from 98) and
compatibility with the newer versions. I want my future file structure
etc to be compliant to the newer structure so I have already got all
the old folders imported into Outlook 2007 as another big folder
(called something like phuile's older personal folder. I want to now
move all the files within all the subfolders in this imported folders
to their proper places (such as all the contact subfolders back into
the contact main folder in the 2007 Outlook tree). Just thought that
before I do a massive manual job, whether there is a way to automate
the move. I know this may sound confusing, so let me provide an
example (stupid it may seem ...)

I now have in my Outlook a directory tree with the new structure with
nothing in the folders. Then, I have the "phuile's older personal
folder" with all my old folders within it (including calendars and
contacts etc, all imported from OL98). For example, I now want to move
each of the subfolders within "Contact" in this older tree to the new
contact folder. I discover that the manual way to do this properly is
to copy each old folder, and choose "move to" and choose the new
contact folder. It will move the folder there, creating a new folder
to hold all the content. I am looking for a way to move all of them in
one go. I am thinking that since they are within folders such as
"contact", "calendar", "tasks", "inbox", "deleted items" etc, there
may be a way to do this and all the subfolders will go into the
respective new folder.

I also have a number of folders within the personal folder, each have
directory structure about 3 level deep for storing different
categories of emails. Just thought I would be able to move them also
in one go to the new personal folder.

Thanks for any other help!!

Opening a pst does not impact on the file structure/format of the current
data file

No you cannot automate the moving of data within the current structure,
other than by rt clicking a folder within the folder tree and selecting
'move to'
