How to get rulers to show the position of a line on the page

The status bar of your work window will show the disttance from top of page,
although this may not be exact. It does appear to calculate to the TOP of the
line of text, so will have to consider that in your placement. This will also
be affected should you change font size in your document.

If your status bar is not showing , go to Tools>Options>view and check teh
show status bar checkbox. HTH

Turn on your Drawing Toolbar, click the Draw button & select Grid. That may
help, but if I'm reading correctly in the limited information you offered
you'll still have a problem getting the text to go where you want it. If you
supply more descriptive detail about what you're trying to accomplish and
what you're working with perhaps more ideas will be offered.
