How to get rid of Xupiter??

I have McAfee and am virus free but it keeps finding Xupiter. I then remove
it but it never goes away. It seems that McAfee can't get rid of it. I see
many adds for software that promise to take care of this problem but they
are not from known companies.

Any experience with getting rid of Xuptier successfully?

I found something on my system was helpfully making backup copies of my
deleted files. So I delete an infected file but it is then copied 'just in
case'. I had to stop this feature before deletion.

Also sometimes starting the computer in 'safe mode' will stop a virus which
loads itself into RAM during start up. You can then delete it without it
copying itself back onto the hard drive.

My virus problems lasted for 2-3 months and after I thought I had got rid of
everything I did a defrag, just to make sure.

BTW, there is a class action suit against Xupiter.

Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search and Destroy can get rid of it.

You should download both and update their reference files through their on
line update function. Run Ad-Aware first and delete all it finds. You
may have to reboot and re-run to remove it completely.

You should update and run these at least weekly just like your AV program.

Another good application is SpywareBlaster and you should update this at
least once a week.
