How can I get microsoft word to do math eqations and show the work?

You can't. Word isn't a math _solving_ program, it's a word processor with
the ability to write, display, and print equations. You have to do the work
yourself, and then write out the equations in Word.

If you want a program to solve equations for you, there are a number of
them -- look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_computer_algebra_systems.

Hi Ken,

If you want Word to show both an equation like 'x=((15+14)*2-10)/6' and its result '8', create a table with two cells, then:
.. put the formula in the left cell
.. press Ctrl-F9 to create a field in the second cell and type '=A1' between the field braces (ie {=A1}) and press F9 to see the
result.
