how to get fill color same as background color?

Geoff Cox

Hello,

I wonder if this is possible?

The slide has a background color with a gradien effect.

I want to place words in text boxes at various places on the slide
where the background color will be different. These words will over
write the word at that position when the user clicks on the slide.

Is it possible to use the fill colorso that the color is the same as
the the background color at that position?

Cheers

Double-click the textbox and on the Colors tab, use the Fill pull-down and
choose Background.

How well it works depends on your background and the version of PPT you're
using.

The Background fill is only available from the Format Object dialog box,
which you get to by double-clicking the object (textbox) or choosing
Format|Object. Just clicking the fill bucket icon on the drawing toolbar
doesn't show the background fill option.

Echo,

Just a second thought ... as I said the above works fine but is it
possible to create a "style" for this and the following steps?

I want to

1. create word in a text box, where the font is Arial Black, regular
and size 20. At the moment I have these values in Format/font and have
ticked the Default for new objects box.

2. double click the text box, as you have said, and select
Color/background

3. then lastly select Slide Show/Custom Animation/Add
Effect/Entrance/Dissolve in

It would be nice to set this up once only!! Is this possible?

Cheers

Geoff,
Once you have one set up, copy it and paste it where ever you need the next
one. You can set some of the defaults the way you mentioned. By using copy
and paste to create the next ones, the animations will follow with the new
copy.

Kathy,

simple - at least it is once some one points it out!

Thanks

Not quite sure I understand the problem but if you want a TEXT fill that
follows a gradient background you need to start with text in "word art" and
then use a background fill (a blackline is a good idea else it will be
invisible
