How to get AntiSpyware to shut up about a homepage-change?

M

Marshall Cline

I changed my homepage, and every night AntiSpyware
reports the change as a "Possible Browser Hijack (Browser
Modifier)." I can't seem to convince AntiSpyware that
the new homepage is intentional?

The options seem insufficient: "Ignore" is worthless (it
ignores only during the current run), I'm concerned
that "Ignore Always" will always ignore any browser-
hijack, and "Remove" will presumably remove my change,
reverting to the old homepage.

What should I do?

Also, will somebody on the project team at Microsoft fix
these option-labels to something more descriptive?

Thanks,
Marshall

I think that ignore always is the correct choice, and applies specifically
to the URL you are choosing, and not any change of URL.

However, the feedback that these choices are unclear is helpful, and perhaps
Microsoft will consider changing the dialog box.

You can turn off the checkpoint that gives rise to these warnings, but you
don't want to do that.

What settings do you have for the start page in Tools, advanced tools,
browser hijack settings restore?
