How to fix the language bar

My wife has a problem with her machine and the language bar.

My wife and I both have Windows XP, she has Home and I have professional.

She needs to be able to type in russian, so we have added russian to the
language bar

On my machine everything is a-ok but on her machine its messed up a bit. It
was working correctly when I first installed it, but somehow, something has
changed.

She can type in russian in Office, she can type in russian in the address
bar in IE but she cannot type russian in a textbox on a webpage. For
instance, if I bring up Goggle on my machine and switch the language bar to
russian, then I can type in russian in the google search box. If I go to her
machine, launch IE, go to google, switch to russian and try to type in the
search box, I get english (but the characters are mapped wrong).

I did a file compare of all the fonts on her machine and my machine but they
seem to be the same. I removed Russian from her language bar and added it in
again (hoping it would reset everything) but its still broke. Any
suggestions.

Michael,

Uninstall or update Google Toolbar (but sometimes the other additional
toolbars can lead to this effect, too): as far as I know, the latest
version of it does not have this bug.

BTW, problems with Russian you can solve in
microsoft.public.ru.russian
groups -- there are several of them, and queries in English are
acceptable there in such cases, too. And I would recommend to visit
"Cyrillic (Russian): instructions for Windows and Internet":

site (its author is one of the participators of those groups).
