How to fix position of comment boxes

In Excel 2002 and with multiple horizontal pages any open comment
boxes will move their positions from where dragged if there is any
subsequent change to the layout. This typically is not seen until the
document is printed or reopened.

As an example I have a four page wide spreadsheet with cell comments
on the right hand page. I drag these open comment boxes to a clear
area on the same page. I then might make a change such as changing
the print area or hiding a column. On reopening the file the comment
boxes have shot to the extreme left hand page although still are line
connected to the same right hand page cells.

How can I fix the position of the boxes?

Forgot to ask how do I get these to return to their original
positions without dragging.
