How to find an FTP server

Hello
Do a port scan for a range on IP addresses on your network and look for open
port 21.
Port 21 is the default port for FTP.

You can get many port scanners for you OS. Just search the google.

Depending on the size of your LAN, how it's configured and how lucky you are
then you may also be able to catch it in a network trace. If it's being
used a lot then if you capture on the service port of your switch it should
be pretty obvious where the FTP server is. If you use something like
Network Monitor you could just setup a big buffer and then set a capture
filter for FTP traffic only.
