how to enter one field in a form and have the other fields auto-fi

How can we have a form that the user enters in the loan number and the other
fields in the form fill in with the information from the same table. Then we
would like the information pulled be able to be updated if blank or needs
corrected.

After the information is verified or corrected then the user will click and
run the macro to print and close the form.

Well, that is great information as this will help me in another issue I have.
However, in reference to this question the information that I would like to
auto fill is only part of the form and the user will still need to add
additional information.

Here is the situation, we have a static DB that has alot of information that
we currently used and require but we still need to input some additional data
that will be used in other forms and reports.

There is also another issue that if the data was uploaded/transmitted to the
system we will not have access to that until the next day. So, the prefill
will be used often but not on all records since we are time sensitive and the
data needs to be entered in the same day we receive it.

Once that information is completed, I will have several forms that will use
the information and build off of it.

I know it can be done just don't have a foggy clue of how!
