How to email Access report?

Our Access reports for invoices look fine when
the printer prints them. But how to send them by
email?

If they are exported to excel or word the formatting is all goofed up and
they look like hell.

You can export them in Rich Text Format (.rtf) that Word can open. However,
as you may have noticed, rtf strips out all the nice formatting.

That leaves a couple of options. One is to print them as PDF files. There
are many utilities out there (PDF995 comes to mind) that do this. Office 2007
has a free download which can do this. Most PCs have Adobe Reader installed.

Access also has the Snapshot Viewer which you can download from MS. However
all the users of the report need to have a copy of Snapshot Viewer installed
on their PC for this to work.

For the most part both PDF and Snapshot Viewer files can only be viewed and
not modified. Actually that might be a good thing for invoices. If that is a
problem, you may need to create a Word document and mail merge the Access
data to it so that others can modify the document.

Simplest approach is Stephen Lebans solution.
A2000ReportToPDF is an Access 2000 database containing a function to
convert Reports and Snapshot files to PDF documents. No PDF Printer
driver is required. Free.

For a page on how to print a report for a single record and how to
generate reports to attach to emails see the Emailing reports as
attachments from Microsoft Access page at
