How to delete vertical line in email reply

If you reply to an HTML email message, Outlook 2003 by default uses Word 2003 for the email editor. A vertical reply line is shown on the left side of the message being replied to. I like to quote parts of the message, and then insert my reply beneath each quote. My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the vertical reply line in front of my reply. Of course with text based email, it's easy to insert your reply in between the >'s which are used to indicate the original message, but I'm stymied using HTML email in Outlook 2003. By the way, if you use Outlook Express, you can insert breaks in the vertical reply line by pressing Backspace, then typing your reply, but this trick doesn't seem to work in Outlook 2003.

In Outlook, go to Tools | Options, click the E-mail Options button, and in
the "On replies and forwards" section, choose "Include original message
text" for "When replying to a message". You should not get the vertical
line from then on.

Addition to my previous answer -- "Include and Indent..." works just as
well.
