how to delete Personal Folder used to import via flash drive ?

I exported the Outlook 2000 Inbox on my XP computer to a flash drive, then
imported to Outlook 2007 on new Vista 64 machine. This created an extra
Personal Folder, so I dragged its Inbox to be a sub-folder of the current,
identically named Inbox (which receives all new email). However, I cannot
delete the "spare" personal folder as the filepath is no longer valid (and
flash drive deleted).

I woud like at the very least to delete this surplus folder; ideally I would
also like to merge the two inboxes. Any help very much appreciated !

You corrupted your Profile in the method used
Use the mail applet in the control panel to create a new profile, add the
data file, add accounts, Test settings
The correct method would have been to copy the old data file to a location
on your hd (Documents folder)
Within OL open this data file and copy data to the default data file, then
closing the old data file, if neccessary

DL - thanks for replying.; however, I will need step by step intructions : I
have searched "mail applet" in Control Panel without success.

Btw, the flash drive worked fine for Sent Items and Contacts - I did the
Inbox first and configured one of the import dialog boxes incorrectly.

Go to 'file' , ' data file managment ' , click on the folder that has been
moved and click delete

this should work fine , to clear up the other issue just select all emails
in the mailbox and use drag an drop to move to the main inbox then once you
are sure it is empty delete it.

Switch to the Classic view or click the User Accounts category.
