How to create own planner I can read and keep in shirt pocket

When I went to Office Depot and looked at planners they all seem too big or
not user friendly.

For years I used a particular planner that was big and I carried it in my
brief case. That was bad enough and now I am retired and still need a planner
(you know all the things retirees do like go to five different doctors :) in
between senior days at the supermarket and movie theater).

Maybe it is just old age, but I always had to write appointments down and
now is no different. I just don't want to carry a briefcase around .

I would like to make up a planner with one page per day(no hours) and blank
pages for notes, telephone numbers, and the other things I now have to jot
down on whatever scrap of paper is handy.

I might not get it small enough for my shirt pocket, but maybe half the size
of a standard 8X11 printer paper that can be used on both sides?

What I am hopping is that someone has already created something similar that
I can use or modify for use. Thanks very much for reading. I look forward to
your reply.

You might check
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT062100881033.aspx to see if
there is anything you could adapt.

Also, if you're open to looking for a ready-made solution, you might look
into the "pocket" size (3.5" x 6.5") or "compact" size (3" x 5") Day-Timer
planners, which come in a variety of layouts--one page per day, two pages
per day, two pages per week, etc.; see http://www.daytimer.com/. You can
also Google for "pocket planner" to find a variety of other options.

Thank you. I did not see a template that I liked and will look for one, as
you suggested, in the Daytimers. I only checked Office Depot. Maybe they just
do not stock these small ones.
