How to circumvent Quacktime .. ????

When I click on an mp3 file with Internet Explorer it downloads the
entire file and plays it with Quacktime. I uninstalled Quacktime and
Internet Explorer reverted to streaming mp3 files and using Windows
Media Player, which is what I want. But .... I had to reload Quacktime
.... I took every negative option ... and still Internet Explorer is
downloading mp3s and playing them with Quacktime. How can I get
Internet Explorer to quit using Quacktime for mp3 files ???

Have you tried this: Right click an ".mp3" file and select Properties. On
that page go to Open With and select "Change". Choose Windows Media Player an
check "always open this type of file with".

Yes. If I click on an mp3 file on my computer, Windows Media Player
plays it. It's only when I click on an mp3 file using IE that
Quacktime pops up.

I didn't understand that your problem is only in IE. Afraid I can't help.
