dear friends,

1.
we have a computer DELL precision ws 380 n series (windows 2000 Prof edition)
installed with a machine software (universys personalization scracth off
machine)
see
http://www.kba-metronic.com/en/home...re/met,file,Produkt-SP-Universys-pdf-e,en.pdf

2.
and this computer is connected to a machine (universys personalization
scracth off machine) via com port (there are 4
comport used for connection)..

After we install symantec antivirus 10,
the software of the machine can not connect to the machine...

NB :
norton antivirus : symantec antivirus from symantec corp (2005)
full version : 10.0.0.359 (www.symantec.com)..

3.
the strange this is after we un-installed the norton antivirus..the s/w of
machine still can not communicate
with the machine.

4.
how to figure out which ports are blocked in windows 2000 professional
edition ?

5.
how to know which ports are used by s/w of machine to communicate with
machine in windows 2000 prof edition ? so we can avoid using that ports
number.

6.
if we use Netmeeting..does it disturb connection of s/w to machine
communication ?

Tks,
hendy

You can use a port scanner on the PC such as

http://www.foundstone.com/index.htm...&subcontent=/resources/proddesc/superscan.htm

or the earlier version

http://www.foundstone.com/index.htm...&subcontent=/resources/proddesc/superscan.htm
