How to change page # in Word and pages after follow sequentially?

Right now, in the footer of my Word document, the first page is page 1, and
pages following automatically show as page 2, 3, 4, etc. I need to change the
first page to 'page 8' and, when I manually change page 1 to page 8, every
page following reads as page 8. How can I make pages follow in sequence
(i.e., 8, 9, 10, 11, etc.)?

I believe if you go to
insert
page numbers and click format
you can then fill in the start at number with 8 the pages following should
follow sequentially

JGC, this worked perfectly! I knew I should be able to format the page
number, but I was looking in the footer options, which are limited. Thanks
again.

On the Header and Footer toolbar, you should find a Format Page Number
button, which will take you directly to the needed dialog.

Format Page Number: Start at 8. If you have Word 2003 or earlier, there is a
Format Page Number button on the Header and Footer toolbar.
